This site (operated by the Garden City Group, which provides legal administrative services) gives details about the Chase “minimum payment” lawsuit.
For those who are interested, here is a direct link to the site’s Court Documents page. I find Chase’s response in the “Chase’s Answer to Master Class Action Complaint” document most interesting, in that it repeatedly denies any responsibility for its actions against the plaintiffs (and/or class members).
I too had my minimum payment increased to $800.00 per month. I had to cash out my 401 k retirement plan in order to pay it down by $10000.00. The penalty was 25% for early withdraw. At least I was able to afford the min. payment after that.
Chase makes me sick. i never made 1 late payment, i paid a fee to get the balance transfer, and when the time came they were RUDE hung up on me when i said i have 2 accts with you my payments are more then doubled i cant afford to give you1000 a month, thus the reason i consolidated with you and all they did was hang up on me. when the chips are down chase doesnt care at all. I tried 2 times to modify my mortgage with them and they just turned me flat down.. Chase has had to refund me on 2 mortgages a $250 fee they illegally charged. a $10 a month fee on 2 accts they illegally charged me for and now this minimum paymt stuff. you couldnt PAY me to give chase any business ever again. I have turned down all their offers for checking acct cc etc. screw you Chase i am so glad you didnt get away with this. i had 2 accts with you and they were BIG you screwed me good. Im wondering if they have to lower the rates back down on all these accounts becasue i just wanna pay them real slow now just becasue they screwed me all they will ever get now from me is MINIMUM paymt even if it takes 5 years to pay off 500 dollars. i will make them wait as long as possible!!!!!
