I’m not admitting to a “Disorder” because the OC actually results in “order.”

I’ve had a lot of problems these past several weeks.  For instance, my wife’s major surgery was performed in Tennessee, yet here I am in another state (North Carolina, due to relocating for the entrepreneurship faculty appointment I now hold at at Western Carolina University).  This is because we still have a home that has been challenging to sell after over a year on the market.  Our efforts have included 3 realtors — lower case “r” intended — and one failed contract that left us “holding the bag”; half of our things were packed and moved, with no way to put it all back and re-stage the home.

The geographic separation has really been frustrating, especially since following my wife’s surgery she’s basically been in the care of our two children — not to diminish that a few friends have been very kind, running errands for food and necessities (my wife can’t drive until she has fully recovered).

Nevertheless, sooner or later, the home will sell, and I’ll pay Chase off a lot faster when that happens.  It’s a good property in a bad market, and I am a little bit OC (D) — Obsessive Compulsive (I’m not admitting to the “D” part of the acronym, as in “Disorder,” because the OC actually results in “order”).  Thus, the home has been meticulously maintained.  (Fine, dear — in case my wife is reading — I may be more than “a little bit orderly,” and I do like my garage floor mopped so that I can see any leaks from cars and keep those running, too.  And, it’s a good thing that I am persistent, committed, and tenacious — what you call “stubborn as hell,” dear – because those are entrepreneurial traits that have also been needed while fighting abusive credit card companies, especially Chase.)

As of now I am recovering from a hard drive crash over the past few days – no need for backup advice: I have a backup, and I’ll “chunk a bad disk out the window” just as fast as I’ll get a new car battery (the very first time the present battery leaves me stranded).  Humm, I suppose you could say I’m as loyal to a battery that has let me down as Chase has been to customers (except those account holders didn’t even do anything wrong — indeed, they were performing as agreed and meeting their obligations).

Why am I telling you about these personal distractions?

Two reasons: 1) I am really behind on maintaining the ChangeInTerms.com site — and a lot has been going on relative to Chase — I’m working to bring some of these current developments to your attention as soon as I can; and 2) I appreciate the many nice emails that “cheer me on” for fighting Chase, but I could use some help in other ways.

I recognize that many people want to maintain their privacy, and I assure you I would have preferred to not take on this cause.  However, I encourage you to be brave.  Please consider acting upon some of the suggestions made regarding ways to be more directly involved with this issue.  See the special reports (e.g., “The Case Against Chase,” “Credit Cards and Small Business Usage Report“), or on the “Join the Fight” page for specific suggestions.

    Thanks, Marv.

She seems to be improving, slowly but surely — long road to recovery. I appreciate your kind wishes.
